Casey has been miserably sick for the past 3 days, as have a few of the kids. It's horribly sad because we had some fun things planned. I went solo to many of them, but top on the list was the
Draper Temple Open House. Beautiful temple and a lovely reminder of what a blessing
Temple Ordinances are in our lives. Since we had to leave the 3 sickie pies at home to recover, Ashlyn & Tyler were able to come with me and have a really terrific, uplifting experience. I was impressed with how much the kids were able to grasp and what a special experience it was for them to be inside the actual temple and experience the feelings inside. It really made a positive impact on them and I'm so glad we got to go. Tyler seemed to have some very interesting questions, and it was neat to see him wrapping his brain around them.

I can't say enough--take your families and go enjoy an amazing experience. In hind-sight, it was a lot easier and more meaningful for the older kids because we didn't have the wiggly-littler kids with us--mostly because I was able to answer questions and point things out to them. So I'm sincerely putting the offer out to watch any kids that you might want to leave behind. Comment on the blog, email or call me when you get your tour date. I'd LOVE to do it for you so you can go and enjoy it!

And since I couldn't go with my orginial hot date, Ty filled in (and was a cute substitute, if I may say so myself) for my cousin, Tyler & Mallory's wedding reception. Lovely reception, darling new couple and fun one-on-one time with my boy.

You are such a good mom. I'm curious what kind of questions Ty asked, he's a smartie. Hope everyone gets feeling well soon!
Katie, I may just take you up on the offer! My wiggly 2-year-old may not appreciate such a special experience. We have tickets to go Jan. 31 at 3:40. Hope your family is back to healthy soon.
It was so fun to see and talk to you in person at the wedding! You look fabulous!
It looks like your babysitting for me...thanks for the offer!
Hey, can you watch my kids? No?!? Dang that thousands of miles thing...
BTW, how long does the open house go? I'm in town in March for TOdd's brother's wedding (and a realtor tour).
I'm glad that you posted this. We're actually in Utah right now. Hope that everyone is healthy now. Yuck.
Oh, I've been meaning to tell you that Wayne is probably not going to do Pulm/CC. Thanks anyway!
You just made me even more excited to go! We have tickets on Saturday the 31st. I took my oldest to the Rexburg temple last January, and I was also impressed with how much he "got it." I was just telling my husband that I thought we should leave our baby home and only take the older two. So, even though I haven't seen you in...what, 14 years...is there really a better way to get re-acquainted than to send my nearly two-year-old, who happens to be in the middle of potty training, your way for a couple of hours. Okay, maybe I'll check with my mom first and we could just do lunch some time. So sorry about the sick family. You have to love January!
We are excited to take our kids too! Thanks for sharing your experience. You are a great example!
