It came out of my husbands mouth the other day..."If I had to do it over again, I would have gotten a mini-van."
I am shocked! This from a guy who swore he would NEVER get a minivan. We were just looking at SUV's with 3 rows, and I got him to actually sit in an Odessey 3 years ago. Now that was a feat in itself, so I felt a small sense of victory just to get him to think outside of his "comfort zone". We actually really wanted a Pilot, but at the time, they had just come into the market and we could only buy new and didn't quite have the funds for that! So, we've been just fine with the Explorer.
But I just had to write it down so that my loving husband won't forget that these words were uttered when we get the shopping bug again. Any shout-outs from the mini-mom's out there?!?

It's sweet sailing in the Toyota Sienna. Our clown car of choice.
Sorry - another MV hater over here! I just can't get over their shape. It's like the weiner dog of SUV's! :)
I don't think you truly appreciate minivans until the kids come rolling in. We definitely ate our words and purchased an Odyssey last year. We LOVE it!!
WE LOVE THE ODYSSEY! Would do it again in a heartbeat even though it wasn't the initial car of choice. Casey, really, they aren't that bad (even though they are not the most attractive of cars). Even Matt likes it.:)
Sorry but minivans ROCK! No SUV can open your kids doors automatically when your hands are full or slide open when you are parked with only 8 inches clearance next to a Mercedes you don't want to ding with your door. No SUV can turn on a dime like my Sienna or has enough trunkspace to pack clothes, food, and beach gear for 5 people for a week long road trip and STILL gets 25mpg! Mine has a sunroof to top it all off and it ROCKS! Anyone who turns up their nose at minivans is missing the party (or just doesn't have more than 4 kids)! Not that I have any strong opinions about it or anything. :)
AMEN Brit! Swore I would never drive a minivan...and although I have jealousy issues with SUV moms, I actually love my ugly Ford Windstar(although I wish it was a Sienna). Its a beast...but if I had a nice SUV I am sure my kids would destroy it. I am saving that purchase for when I am in my 40s.
So funny!! I must say I love my SUV and never envied a mini van except for the auto doors that allow easy access for loading. Glad pigs are flying somewhere!:)
I must say that my Tahoe does turn on a dime and I can whip into any parking space needed.
Okay, with four kids, I've driven a Honda Pilot... and traded it for an odyssey. An suv when all four kids are sitting in booster or car seats is terribly impractical if you ask me... I will admit, I totally felt more hip driving the Pilot, but the convenience of the van far outweighs feeling hip!
I know this is pathetic, but driving my two kiddos in a Taurus and Corolla, I am DYING to get a minivan. I believe it will be our FIRST purchase when we get the funding (if we EVER get the funding). I was sold when I saw the vans that open and close the doors automatically. SO COOL!
we bought our car 4 years ago and Josh wanted a van, I said NO WAY!!! Now we are in need of a bigger car and I had to be the one to say, well I guess we can get a mini van!! I hated them, but they are more cost effective and convenient.
