Degrees of blogging

Ever heard of the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon? Where every actor can be linked through their career to Kevin Bacon? I'm convinced that this phenomenon also applies to the blogging world. Take any random persons blog and after clicking on a few links of family and friends, you'll find someone that you've known in your past.

The bad thing about this is it feels very stalk-ish. Though I feel vulnerable doing this, I'm exposing some of my blogging faux pas anyway! For example, I've happened to click on someone I know off of my sisters blog, which lead to someone else (I didn't know very well, I'm embarrassed to say) and found my back door neighbor's blog. Seriously.

Do I make a comment and admit how I found them? Check in once in a while and not say anything? Anonymously complain that their weeds are creeping to our side of the fence:) Joking.

Once I happened to comment to my husband about a really funny post I'd read that day. He asked me who it was and I had to admit that it was a kid I went to high school with that was a few years younger than me. I got that stare--the "What are you really doing at 6:30 in the morning when I think you're just checking your emails" look. Or, it could have been the "Wow, I married a stalker" look. Which ever look it was, I was a little embarrassed. In fact one of my resolutions this year is to limit my time on the computer and only be on with specific purposes, but I digress...

But, I've had people that I really enjoy catching up with that have posted a comment to let me know they ran across my blog randomly and I'm so glad they did! So, I guess I should just swallow my pride and not be ashamed of my blogging habits. Blogs are like getting Christmas Cards, not once a year, but every day. Plus, I love the real day-to-day happenings that make life so interesting that don't always make the annual letter. So, stalk away, I say!

Thats so funny. We all do it and have a blast reading others blogs. Sometimes perfect strangers and sometimes people we used to know. I mean thats how I found you after all. Here is my confession. I look at Kristi & Tedd Soffe, Amy Johnson, the Langheinriches(see I cant even spell there names), the sharples and the list continues. But you, Katie, are the only person I dared to leave a comment. I almost left one for Jaci and thought I might freak her out so I didnt. lol.

I've done that so many times. I usually read for months before commenting. Sometimes I comment without a link to my blog just because I don't always want to share it with people. At the same time, I've gotten in touch with old friends through my blog and been grateful for it.

Ha ha ha...Brian gives me the same look. I also have resolved to not spend so much time surfin' the web/blogs. However, it is difficult when I'm in charge of my highschool reunion and I have to at LEAST check THAT blog often, and end up checking others too. Ah man. It IS fun though to see what people are upto! AND I figure if they haven't restricted the viewers to their blog, then they KNOW they could be stalked. You can always privatize! :)

Well guess what I'm confessing! I have been reading your blog for a couple of weeks and didn't want you to think that I'm a blog stalker! It's me Jaci. I'm so happy that I ran across your blog! You are the best! You have such cute kids, and you are such a great mom! It is kind of weird when you know all about what is going on without talking to the person! Who is Julie? Peterson? I hope you feel like you can leave a comment. I won't think your a freak. I think in the blogging world we all know how it goes. Kraig thinks it's crazy! It is kind of scarey that random people can read it, but it is fun to get in touch with people you haven't talked to in awhile! We should have lunch and gab about our blogging finds. So good to run across your blog. You are darling!

I'm a big time blog stalker! I found you and have been secretly spying on your adorable little family! You have the cutest kids and I love to see how an amazing person is raising her children and managing life. I to thinks it's intersting to see what others are doing day to day, especially moms.

Speaking of blog stalking!! My sis in law started her blog, I was browsing her links (Mindy is her friend) you are Mindy's cousin, and now here I am. Old roomies form BYU. I love to read up on everyone as well. It's so fun!

I guess I'm a stalker too! I'm an LDS friend of Kim Seal's from Houston. I think stalking has its payoffs...I found an old friend I had lost track of years ago by clicking on "Next Blog", and she was on someone else's blog! Crazy! I've enjoyed the voyeurism this afternoon, and you are welcome to stalk the Hansens over at the Seal Circus anytime!

Katie, we are friends, right? Why is it that I didn't even know you had a blog until NOW? I guess my stalking skills are not good enough to have hunted you down. I miss you!

So funny that when I find you... the post that I read is this one! I'm an old friend... from our early married days in Provo. Do you remember the Proctors? How did I get here? Well, I by total chance found the blog of Damon and Jacey Hill... then found a link to the Henderson's blog. So I decided to see who else I could find. I googled you, was linked to a blog of a family member, and that brought me here. If that doesn't make me sound stalkerish, I don't know what does!! I never would have confessed all the details had your post not been what it was! So there you have it.

Just the same, I'm glad I found you! I hope that you and Casey are doing well! You are welcome to come over and stalk my blog as well...
